1. Data Collection
RomM iOS does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us. The app operates purely as a client for your own self-hosted RomM server, and all data remains on your device or on infrastructure you control.
2. Local Storage
The app stores your library data and game metadata locally on your device using CoreData for browsing and offline access. Downloaded ROMs, save files, and save states are kept in the app's local storage so you can play offline. Game cover images and screenshots retrieved from your server are cached locally to improve performance. All login credentials — both for your RomM server and for any SFTP devices you configure — are stored securely in the iOS Keychain. None of this data is shared with third parties.
3. Server Communication
The app communicates only with the RomM server and SFTP devices you configure yourself. It connects to your RomM instance to browse your library, download ROMs, and synchronize save files and save states, and — if you set it up — transfers files to your own remote devices via SFTP. No analytics, tracking, or telemetry data is collected or transmitted, and no data is sent to the developer.
4. Emulation & On-Device Processing
All game emulation runs entirely on your device using the bundled Delta and Libretro emulator cores. ROMs, save data, and BIOS files are processed locally and are never uploaded to any service other than your own RomM server when you choose to sync them.
5. Third-Party Services
This app does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. It does not integrate with social media platforms or external services. The app is distributed via Apple's TestFlight and the App Store; any data Apple collects in that context is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
6. Your Rights
Since no personal data is collected, processed, or stored by us, there is no personal data on our side to access, modify, or delete. All your data stays under your control on your device and on your own server. You can remove locally stored data at any time by deleting downloads within the app or uninstalling it.
